Acorn TV Announces June Premieres + Upcoming British Productions

Today marks 10 years since the premiere of From There to Here, a period drama set against the backdrop of the 1996 IRA bombing of Manchester's city centre. The action follows the intertwined lives of the Cotton family.

Philip Glenister (Life on Mars) stars as Daniel Cotton, a seemingly successful businessman who struggles to reconcile his fractured family and his double life. As the city rebuilds in the wake of the attack, Daniel grapples with secrets and lies that threaten to ruin everything that's important to him.

The three-part series also includes performances from Steven Mackintosh (Lucky Man), Saskia Reeves (Slow Horses), Liz White (Life on Mars), and Morven Christie (The Bay). In the US, you can stream it free with ads on Amazon's Freevee (which does not require you to have Prime).

If you're not a fan of e-readers, you may want to skip this first section. In case you missed the news, Amazon made some big e-reader announcements this week. Four new Kindles were announced, but the biggest news is that one of them has a colour screen that's easy on the eyes (not like the Kindle Fire tablets or Kindle app).
