\nThough it hasn't yet premiered in the US, we're delighted to have spotted season 2 of Bookish on casting sites. Set to premiere on PBS (no date yet) in the US, the series stars Mark Gatiss as the owner of an antiquarian bookshop in 1946 London.
\n
\nFrom the relative safety of his bookshop, he helps police solve particularly challenging crimes - while hiding his true self behind a \"lavender marriage\" to his lovely wife Trottie (Polly Walker, Line of Duty).
\nFilming has begun on Can You Keep a Secret?, a new sitcom starring Dawn French (The Vicar of Dibley), Mark Heap (Friday Night Dinner), Craig Roberts (Submarine), and Mandip Gill (Doctor Who).
\n
\nWritten by This Country producer Simon Mayhew-Archer, it stars French as Debbie Fendon, a protective granny who fakes her husband’s death for an insurance payout — dragging her frazzled son and his police officer wife into the mess.
\n
\nSet and filmed in the West Country, the six-episode series has no confirmed premiere date or international streaming details yet.
\n
\nWhile you wait, we recommend checking out The Trouble with Maggie Cole if you haven't already. The dramedy features French and Heap together in the leading roles, and we really wish it had a second season (sadly, it's not looking good considering it's been 5 years without a peep).
\nAcorn TV’s upcoming crime drama Art Detectives, starring and executive produced by Stephen Moyer (True Blood, Sexy Beast), debuts Monday, June 9 in the US and Canada. The six-part series follows DI Mick Palmer (Moyer) and DC Shazia Malik (Nina Singh) as they investigate murders linked to valuable art and antiques — from Viking gold to a fake Vermeer.

\nWant something similar to watch while you wait? Try The Art of Crime on MHz Choice for a fun French art mystery series, or Fake or Fortune? on Peacock or XiveTV for real-life art investigations.

\n\"My voice suddenly got lower, has it? Maybe my knickers are too tight. Listen, I like to be called Governor or The Boss. I don't like Ma'am - I'm not the bloody Queen. So take your pick.\"

Most of us have seen Siobhan Finneran in something - whether it's Downton Abbey, Happy Valley, Benidorm, or one of the dozens of others shows she's acted in. Until the December US premiere of Protection, though, we haven't had the pleasure of seeing her get top billing. In it, she stars as a witness protection officer who finds herself at the center of a major breach...and compromised by an affair with a co-worker. Like Brenda Blethyn or Dames Maggie Smith and Judi Dench, Finneran is one of...

Remember Broadchurch? That delightfully atmospheric coastal mystery with Olivia Colman and David Tennant, the one that still feels relatively recent? It turned 12 today. I repeat: Broadchurch is 12. Clearly, the pandemic did something weird to time, because it doesn't seem like it came out 12 WHOLE YEARS AGO. But it did. What we're...
