BritBox Announces March US Schedule (Ludwig News!)

It's not uncommon to hear about American celebrities with their own product lines - from Kenny G's line of saxophones to Jessica Alba's Honest Company, it's a common path for celebrities who want to use their celebrity to make even more money.

It's not quite as popular amongst British actors - but Tom Holland has done just that. After feeling too dependent upon alcohol in social settings, he became a teetotaler. In late 2024, he launched BERO, a premium non-alcoholic beer brand that, aside from the almost nonexistent alcohol content, looks like something you'd find at your local craft brewpub.

What we're...

  • Watching: A Virtuous Business - It's rare that you see re-makes that are as good as the original series, but this Korean adaptation of the British Brief Encounters is delightful. The series follows a group of women who gain independence and friendship selling "marital aids" via home sales in the early 80s. The Korean version moves it to the 90s and doubles the number of episodes - adding a bit of mystery and romance to the story as it expands. There's no dubbing for this one, but it's well worth reading the subtitles.
  • Reading: The Woman in the Wallpaper - Technically, I'm still finishing up The Girl in the Loch from the last email, but I'm almost done, and this one by English author Lora Jones is next. In 1789 Paris, sisters Lara and Sofi work at the mysterious Oberst Factory, where eerie wallpapers mirror Lara’s life and aristocrat Hortense fears sharing the fate of the late Mrs. Oberst, as revolution threatens to upend them all.

Today marks 20 years since the premiere of the BBC miniseries Archangel, which stars Daniel Craig as a British professor of Soviet history who finds himself pulled into a larger mystery during a trip to Russia.
