British TV Channels as Low as 99 Cents/Month

Amazon's annual Prime Day sales are this week, and as usual, that means a number of streaming channels have been heavily discounted. For us, this is always a great time to subscribe to services we want to try, or to catch up on shows we want to see on services we don't use enough to keep year-round.

Amazon makes it easy to cancel when you're ready (no calls or customer service necessary, just a few clicks on the "Memberships and Subscriptions" section of the account), and if you use something like Google Calendar or Any.do (free for personal use), you can schedule a reminder so you cancel before the price goes back up to normal.

Below, we take a look at the channels most likely to be of interest to British TV fans - including some recommendations for what to watch on the services with less obvious British TV appeal.

What we're...

  • Watching: QI (the new season, V) - If you've never watched QI, I highly recommend giving it a try - ideally, for at least 2-3 episodes so you get a good feel for what's going on. The long-running comedy quiz show poses strange trivia questions, only asking that participants make the answers interesting. As you watch, you learn a lot of strange things - usually accompanied by a few laugh-out-loud moments.
  • Reading: How to Get Away with Murder by Tam Barnett - I spotted this one on sale for 99 cents (still on sale at time of writing), and so far, it's been great fun. If you enjoy darkly hilarious murder mysteries, it's well worth the gamble.
